Guest guest
Hey folks, My wee little one who just turned two last week is a sick little guy today .. running a high fever and being very cranky and clingy. I'll be sporadically on and off the 'puter today due to tending to my poor little guy. At the moment I am getting a brief nap break He's getting lots of water, an echinacea compound that was suggested by my holistic doc. Also at the moment I am diffusing a blend of lemon myrtle, oregano (dubium), lavender (stoechas) & peppermint. Later gators ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Awwwwwwww. Poor wee baby. My sympathies to you and to him. Not nice for either of you! I sure hope he's feeling better soon. Any idea what's causing the fever? Cheers! Thank you fellow mama of a wee one! > Any idea what's > causing the fever? I suspect he's getting his 2 yr molars, but the fever seems a bit high for that (I didn't take his temp with a thermometer but by " feel " I'd wager he was about 103 this morning) ... I personally have been dealing with SOMETHING for about 3 weeks on my end. The first couple days I thought it was a cold, then for the last 2 & a half weeks I've thought is was allergies (everything is in bloom here now) and then for the past 2 days I've thought, well, maybe its a cold, cause all weekend I've had a sore throat with a swollen right tonsil?!?! Very odd considering that I've been doing my oregano, echinacea and even used the goldenseal when the tonsil acted up ... we're just falling apart ;-p Ups ... I hear a wakey cranky baby who wants to know where mommy a.k.a. the human pacifier of the day went *lol* > Cheers! > Kathleen Petrides > The Woobey Queen > The Warming Touch, Therapeutic Pillows > http://www.woobeyworld.com *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com > > Hey folks, > > My wee little one who just turned two last week is a sick little guy > > today .. running a high fever and being very cranky and clingy. Guest guest
Wishing you healing thoughts Christine. Any sick baby couldn't ask for better care. There seems to be a lot of weird stuff " going around " these days. Is it my imagination, or are the bugs getting meaner, even for good organically fed folks? Guest guest
Sorry. It's a pain in the you know. We just got over that mess. I seems to be viral and the worst is you run a very high fever with it. My my 8 yo got it and then gave it to my 3yo and then she gifted it to me and we all had fevers fluctuating between 103 & 104 with runny nose, sneezing and not much of a cough. Last about 7 days. There is strep running around, but I had both of mine tested and they didn't have it and I never got a sore throat with mine. I made a nice room spray and kept spraying the room and stuff down and my husband never got it. Seemed to be more direct contant - my daughter sneezed directly into my face and that's how I got it. Good luck. Guest guest
Thank you Ien, I don't know what we got on this end. My 5 yr old came home from school sick too. At least its not supposed to rain tomorrow so I can clean clean clean, open all the windows - air the house out and get rid of this bug (... while letting in all the allergens - we're so not used to this subtropical climate yet *lol*) ;-p *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Ieneke van Houten [ienvan] Wishing you healing thoughts Christine. Guest guest
Thanks Michele, Those kiddos have a way of sharing all sorts of puke and snot with mommy, huh? Well, I'm off to bed now. Gonna take my routine of vites, some herbs and place drops of a few EOs on a tissue and stuff it into one of my pillows and hope tomorrow is a better day all around - and also hope my cheese turned out well - I can't wait to peek at it in the morning ! Nite y'all (and for those members on the other side of the world - morning y'all *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com mquin [mquin] Sorry. It's a pain in the you know. My kids had high fevers for a whole week. It just kept spiking day after day after day... It was up to 104.6 routinely. There was never any nausea, just that darn high fever. I was thinking " its great there isn't any puking! Not too hard to go through... " Well, then I got it. It was not easy. I only had it for 4 days. There were chills and all kinds of weird sensations. I was left very weak. I went back into work and could barely write! I'm not one to 'warn' or try to 'scare'people, but after going through it and then hearing how it has affected others and then having my brother-in-law tell me that one of his co-workers lost their only child (3 yrs old) to this very same flu... I am a little more leary about it. It is good that he is getting enough fluids. I diffused oils and tried all things holistic, but we had to use so much Motrin. My poor kids were miserable. I had to keep reminding them that it would soon be over --and still it lasted a week. My son was left with a secondary bacterial infection and we were all left with a nasty cold. I didn't get to try the oregano oil, but I sure thought about it a lot! Hope everyone is healthy again soon. Andrea
