Ivy,

I wouldn't bother treating St John's wort as something

rare! It is a prolific weed, even a noxious weed in some

places.

The last few years we have seen quite a spread

of it here.

Plant some and harvest it if you want to play

with it herbally.

Let's look after this one!

Ien -

Unfortunately, New Mexico, where I live, is one of the few states in the US

where it is said not to grow, at least natively. I suppose I could grow

some, but since I had this bunch, I thought I'd try to make something out of

it : - )).

There are actually lots of places St Johns does not grow in the

wild.

I wish they grew in all the places I have lived in the US because

the infused oil is wonderful for aches and pains. I used quite a bit

during the birth of my last babe. It was wonderful.

I also make natural alternative to vicks with st johns as one of the

ingredients and so many customers come back becuase it is such a

help.

I am partial to this herb and have had the experience of NOT being

able to find it growing wild. <sigh>
