Mold growth

I was wondering if anyone had a household blend that will prevent the

growth of mold. I enjoy a more humid/warm house in the winter and of

course I get condensation build up on my OLD wood framed windows.

Does anyone have any idea what I can use to clean/wipe/spray on the

window to help the problem?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Krista,

I don't know that it will prevent the mold growth, but if I find any type of

mildew/mold stuff growing, I spray liberally with regular white vinegar. I

do not dilute it. Simply spray, let sit for a couple of minutes and wipe

clean. Removes the stuff like a charm!

I had a leak back a few months ago, and had some mold growing on the wall,

where the water had dripped down. Sprayed and wiped. :) Mold was

completely gone, and no musty smells left either.

HTH a bit!

Here here!! I have the same problem on the wooden strip at the base of our

external doors, windows and a bit on the walls. We are trying to get our air

flow situation fixed to help eliminate this problem....but then you still have

to kill the mold!

Would love some advise on this one also,

Juliet

Krista,

Use a some tea tree oil in Murphy's oilsoap, scrub with a toothbrush,

rinse with warm water, wipe dry...

Relaquer windowsills..

And you could add a little Leptospermum petersonii (lemon scented tea tree)

to be really effective - and smells good too.

Ahhh, another reason to get some Lemon Tea Tree!

The mold has stained the wood, so it is hard for me to tell if I have actually

gotten rid of it all. Any guesses there?

Thanks for your help,

Juliet

If I had to make a guess, and you've used Lp (aka lemon scented tea tree),

the mould would be gone.
