Guest guest
> Hi Chris... Hi Peggy, > can the vanilla concentrate be mixed into lotions and creams. I have been playing with this stuff for several months now, and yes I have successfully used it in such ways. Like many other plant botanicals, vanilla (and even synthetic vanillin) must be respected. Some folks can be allergic to it, or have a sensitivity to it (internally or externally for that matter). Now don't get all spooked by what I'm saying. I am just reminding folks, a little of this vanilla, just like vanilla absolute, goes a long way and less is more when adding it to those leave on items such as lotions and creams. On a side note - I made a very nice soap with it today. I was pleased at how well it held its warm vanilla scent! Also used it in a natural wax blend candle, which it didn't quite blend into too well, but it did scent the wax before settling and sinking *lol* .. I'll see how it burns tonight > Can you drop it from a pipette? Not really. It is very thick, more like the consistency of vegetable glycerin, which makes sense I suppose since that is the base it is in <grinz>. > Peggy *Smile* Chris (list mom) Green Tea Seed Oil Pre-Buy http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Guest guest
Hi Peggy, Sorry, I just totally missed this one ... > Thanks for the information Chris. How much did you need to use to scent your soap.....per lb of oils? Well, once again, I pulled a typical chef move ... I was just playing, so I didn't take an accurate measurement ... just did a " bloop " of it into the mix *lol* .. but if I had to guesstimate .. I used about 10 ml total per lb ... out of that 10 ml was probably about 4 ml Orange (Citrus sinensis), 3 ml May Chang (Litsea cubeba) and 3 ml Vanilla concentrate (Vanilla planifolia) .. give or take a little of each of course cause it was just a " bloop " <grinz> I promise, next experiment (which will actually be a real recipe for standardization of product I'll keep better notes and pass along the numbers! > Peggy > www.splendidsoap.com *Smile* Chris (list mom) Last Days - Voluptuous Vanillas & Great Green Tea Seed Oil ~ On Special! http://www.alittleolfactory.com
