Guest guest
Looks like a can of worms has been opened on this subject I too was one of those mom's that didn't want to give my kiddo anything! He was tested by the local Health Dept in 2nd grade and she told me he was simply lazy. We kept pushing him and got no where fast. Finally had to have a conference with teachers because they wanted to send him to AL....alternative learning. Now, I don't necessarily have a prob with AL.....but 90% of those kids are ones that have already been in trouble with the law etc. The teacher told us that she wasn't really big on giving kids drugs either, but there are just some kiddos out there that have to have this stuff to get passing grades. Within 2 weeks of my son taking his meds......he went from D's & F's, to A's & B's. Not too long ago, he felt like he could control this, so decided to go off his meds on his own. Ha.....within a week or two, we got a phone call from the principle, he was failing 2 classes......that quickly! I am sure that there are some parents that give it to their kids no matter what......but then there are also us parents who have seen what the meds can do and wish for their children success, not failure. Guest guest
Everyone also needs to remember that not everything works for everyone. Penicillin is a perfect example. When it was first on the market is was the newest wonder drug, a great medical discovery and it does work great for most people but for those allergic to it, it could be deadly.
