Guest guest
Hi Chris, Kathleen and all well, I'm going to be a grandma again! You all went through Nicola's first pregnancy with me, all the sickness, (the miscarriages first) and then the joy of the little boy - and now, in August it;s all going to happen again. I'm really pleased, but I'm asking for some information here. I think that it might be in the archives and if someone can point me in the right direction then I'll go and have a look. After a fairly traumatic birth Nic found feeding quite difficult and eventually, after a hefty dose of thrush in her milk ducts followed by mastitis, she had to give up. She wants to breastfeed this next one but wants as much information as possible on how she can keep the thrush at bay so that she can avoid the awful pain and also the sorrow of not being able to continue feeding past 6 weeks. Any information will be gratefully received. Ann - Scotland
Guest guest
Hi Ann! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm usually the silent lurker here, but I have sent you a lengthy private post on this subject. I have nursed my 4 children and now have 11 (almost 12) grandchildren. I found a couple of websites that might be helpful to you, and also rambled on about all the things I could remember about breastfeeding and thrush. It is very painful and discouraging, but with your support and encouragement, I hope she will be able to successfully breastfeed this time. I also pray for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery. Many times, the attitude of people around a nursing mother can " make or break " her success so try to encourage her in every way you can & have a " you can do it " attitude! If you live close enough to help her, that would be wonderful! Good luck! Pat (in Texas) -- In , " Ann Thorpe " <Ann@s...> wrote: > Hi Chris, Kathleen and all > well, I'm going to be a grandma again! Guest guest
Congratulations Ann (and Nicola and hubby), I do hope thing go more smoothly for her this time around. Pat sent along some GREAT info for ya to pass along to her, and I know Dale was going to get some info together for her too, so I won't even bore you by being repetitive *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com -- In , " Ann Thorpe " <Ann@s...> wrote: > Hi Chris, Kathleen and all > well, I'm going to be a grandma again! Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who has posted on this one. I've forwarded all the links on thrush etc to my daughter. Sadly (for me) she is 400 miles away and I can't get there very often, although I shall be there during (I hope) and after the birth for a few weeks regards Ann - Scotland Congratulations Ann (and Nicola and hubby), I do hope thing go more smoothly for her this time around.
