If you want to join in please do so. Ritual To Heal The Earth - Thursday 13th January 2005 at 9pm By Marie >^..^< This ritual has been kept purposefully simple to allow you to concentrate wholly on the purpose rather than trying to remember words or which herb to add to which candle, etc. You will need a photograph of the earth from space. If you don't already possess one of these then you can find one here: http://www.lube4life.com/images/Earth_in_Space_full.gif If you prefer to do this ritual by candlelight then you can place these around the room but ensure that no candles are placed on the altar. Do not burn incense. Have nearby a drink and a sandwich, piece of cake, etc. There is no need to cast a circle - we are connecting directly to Gaia. Place the photograph of the earth onto your altar and sit before it (you may find it easier to prop it up against a cauldron or candle- holder for a better view. From the moment the ritual begins, your eyes should not leave the photograph. Place your hands on the floor (palms down) in a comfortable position. Visualise roots growing from your hands and into the ground. If you are in an upstairs room or flat, they will first need to travel in the floorspace across to the wall and then down the wall until they reach the ground. You can feel and sense the roots pushing aside the soil, plant/tree roots, stones and rocks. They twist and turn deep into the earth. When you feel that you've reached the core - where it is hot & alive, stretch your roots out to grab at it. Hold onto the core like a tree to a boulder. You are solid. You are connected to Gaia. Keep your eyes on the photograph. See the blue oceans, hear the waves, feel the spray. You can see the pollution in the water like black sludge. Push your energy into the earth and watch it clear. See the ocean as clean and bright. See the dolphins and whales as they flow past in perfect symmetry. Now move to the land. See the beauty of a simple grassy field. The green blades rippling in the breeze. A fluffy rabbit pops his head out and, seeing you, bobs back down again. A fox stops to watch you in interest. See the pollution as barren areas of dead plants and animals. Push your energy into the earth and watch it clear. See the grass even brighter and more lush than before, see a world with no more myxematosis, no more fox-hunting, no more disease. Now move to the sky. See the beauty and simplicity of a beautiful, clear blue sky. Fluffy clouds float by in the gentle breeze, some white, some grey, some black (these represent the pollution). Push your energy into the earth and watch them clear. Watch the grey and black clouds pale to a white, candyfloss-style. Breathe in the cool, fresh breeze and feel your mouth water with its beauty. Finally, pull your attention back to the hot centre of the earth. This is Gaia, who nurture and cares for us. A loving mother who sometimes finds it necessary to give us a good hard slap to bring us back to our senses. She is hurting with neglect and rejection. How could we treat our Mother so badly? Feel the love coming from her. Feel her pain and sadness. Hug her with your roots. Let your love and energy flow freely into her. Feel the energy flow from you in waves, heavy at first and then slowing. You might want to use this special, connected time to speak to her. To tell her of any feelings or thoughts you may be having - maybe even to apologise for not being able to do more to protect her. (No matter how good we all are at recycling and using environmentally-friendly goods - there's always more we can do). Once you have comforted her as much as you can, draw your roots back up through the soil and rocks. Feel them all slide back into place as you move past them. Pull them back up through the wall/ground and into your hands. Lift your hands from the floor and take a few steady breaths to centre yourself. Eat some food and have a drink before you stand up. This can be repeated any time you wish, but I would suggest that it is performed AT LEAST every 22nd April (Earth Day). **Please be kind enough to circulate this widely to ensure that as many people as possible participate in this ritual. **
Guest guest
I ended up not reading this till after 9. It is beautiful I was almost crying when I read it. We can always imagine sending Mother some energy just through our feet when we walk upon Her. There is this beautiful chant that includes the words: The Earth is our Mother We must take care of Her Her sacred ground we walk upon with every step we take It is performed by this singer/healer who just goes by the name Sophia. It makes for excellent Reflexology background music. Ien in the Kootenays, ******************************** " There are only two ways to live your life. One as though nothing is a miracle.
