Guest guest
I am passing this along as a public service announcement ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mullers Lane Farm [mullerslanefarm] Have to pass this along. I heard rumors and got confirmation from different sources that about 40,000 gallons of bad Austrailian Emu Oil has been dumped in the US. It was recently purchased by a CA Emu Oil company. This emu oil originally came from " Blue Stuff " liquidating and is over 8 years old. It is suppose to have a distinguishing scent to it and any theraputic qualities are long gone. Rumor has it that the oil has been cut with corn oil. Emu oil distributors have seen this oil offered on various soap lists and they are concerned that it will ruin the reputation of emu oil for many first time users. Simon Caleb (who was offered to purchase this junk but turned it down) offers this advice, " Before you buy, you should ask is it 100% EMU oil? Is it 100% American? Is it Refined for use in cosmetic's? If the seller is not a EMU grower, then where did the oil come from and WHO, refined it? " Comments forwarded from Emu List, " The only way a consumer can protect themselves is by purchasing emu oil from a reputable, established company. Ask the questions of how long the company has been in business selling emu oil and emu oil products, what is their source of oil, how old is the oil, where is it refined, and how is it refined, do they provide an analysis of their oil? If you are looking to buy bulk quantities of emu oil, ask for a sample. If the oil has an odor (similar to cooking oil), stay away. If the oil has fragrance added, stay away. If the oil has added preservatives....... be very leery. " It's BUYER BEWARE right now for emu oil.
