Hi Folks,

I am working with some suppliers/producers right now before I finalize

anything, but here is a list of some upcoming buys that I hoping to get

going before the end of the month ...

All items are food quality:

Green Tea Seed Oil (a.k.a. Camellia Oil or Tsubaki Abura in Japanese) -

grown without synthetic pesticides or synthetic chemicals - Traditional

Organic

Vanilla Beans (both Bourbon from Madagascar and Tahitian) - grown

without synthetic pesticides or synthetic chemicals - Traditional

Organic

Vanilla Extract - Bourbon from Madagascar (pure, no additives like corn

syrup) - either 2X or 4X - 100% Certified Organic, Certified Kosher

Vanilla Concentrate - Bourbon from Madagascar - a 32 fold vanilla

extract concentrate in a glycerin base - 100% Certified Organic,

Certified Kosher

I'll start posting info about these items soon, including all of the

reasons why you'd want to have them ;)

Hi Ann,

They'll be at least as nice as the ones you got last time :) Plus I'm

going to have both the Bourbon and the Tahitian varieties available this

time. Variety is the spice of life they say!

Hey Chris...

We recently read (was it here?) that the price of vanilla might

plummet fiercely soon. Something about it being 10% of what it is now?

Is this what you're buying in on? I just got some great Papua New

Guinea organic vanilla beans from another co-op, and I'm thinking of

holding out until the new market prices reflect the drop in the market.

Answering my own post! Yes, Chris, I found YOU posted it on 12/28.

Doing a happy dance if you can get the new, low, low prices.

Hi Anya,

I've been keeping up with the vanilla bean market's pricing and I am

working on getting us some great vanilla at a great price. The cost of

vanilla beans undoubtedly has fallen over the past year, but all of my

" inside sources " in the vanilla industry say its pretty much leveled off

now and is right about where its going to stay for the time being, give

or take a few dollars due to normal fluctuations in the commodities

market ...

Chris (list mom - still in a bit of a fog this morning .. need to get my

They'll definitely be less than last year's average $230/lb wholesale

prices (which is why I didn't have any vanilla beans last year!)
