Guest guest
Karen, Best is to google for Maria Treben, an European herbalist and find one of her books. She has the most applications in there than anyone else I know. I keep a small vial in my purse, use it topical as a first aid for a cut, hangnail you name it, but most importantly put a few drops under my tongue after eating out, my gallbladder likes it. My daughter tho, will never forgive me, for I said: " Open your mouth " when she had the beginning of tonsilitis and I squirted a few drops straight on her tonsils...whoa, it's bitter!! Very bitter ! BUt it killed the tonsilitis in it's tracks. It's a big time bug killer. Stimulates the stomach to digest better, will as an external poultice ( fat first, than poultice, than plastic wrap) help to take care of an internal cyst.( it did with me). In short, it's a staple in my house. C-M
Guest guest
Anya, Swedish bitters contains strong herbs and alcohol, alcohol itself is very drying to the skin when used as a poultice. First rub fat, Maria Treben recommends pigs fat* ( lard), I would use goose grease, because that's what I have, vegetarians might want to use vegetarian crisco, as my old native American teacher did Don't know why a good oil can't be used either Make a poultice of several layers of natural cotton material ( old sheet ), dribble SB over it. Put on effected site, put another cloth over it, such as a piece of toweling, than wrap with Saran wrap. SB stains! Permanently! On clothes. Also, if you think you have fatty cysts from acupuncture, you could have keloids, scar tissue some people form easily, wonder what needle was used...:)There are good EO mixes for keloids. for ordinary cysts, IF applied at the first sign, Desitin , the stuff that is used for babies butt's is very effective, at least in our family. C-M Maria Trebens book can be bought at Amazon.com, inEnglish. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006NZPLK/qid=1105448287/sr=8-1/r\ ef=pd_csp_1/104-9658355-4595944?v=glance & s=hpc & n=507846 The book and herbs can be also purchased through smallflowers.com , a German Apothecary in Chicago ( Merz).
