They love the sandy soil in this area. They stay dormant when it is cold & then once it gets a little warm, high 60's - 70's they start hatching & appearing *S* We have dogs that come in & out & it is a constant battle. We can't spray outside anymore because of the horse. It's hard to find boric acid around here I've tried so if any one finds a source let me know. Guest guest
Hello hahagranny, In reference to your comment: è Today I'd add garlic to the critters diets, too, enough è to make them stinky, LOL We've tried the garlic in è the dogs food - don't know what is worse - fighting the è fleas or being gassed by dogs that have been eating è garlic *S* WEll I'll tell you....this being the hunting season, and this being a popular hunting area, and this being a good year, we were inundated by " scraps. " It seems as a few select morons were driving down out of the mountains with their catch, they were depositing the scraps by the side of the road as they drive. Normally our hunters are great guys, but for some reason this year we had a huge problem with chunks of rotting meat lining the side of the roads. WE have an old fence and big dogs and as soon as we fix a hole or put up a new section they can't jump, they find a new hole. We keep them chained during the day but one of us usually forgets late at night, or they have a moment of weakness when we're working them (fueled, I'm sure, by the oh so lovely scent of the meat down the road) and so they get out, go eat some of this icky meat, and then come home. I do believe I'd prefer GARLIC dog farts to ROTTING MEAT dog farts anyday!!!! LOL. I really do love my dogs...I just need corks for them some nights, LOL.
