Guest guest
Merry xmas everyone and for those that dont celebrate christmas, happy summer solstice (which has just passed) my husband is from the states and has been here in Australia for 6 yrs now.. and he often talks about how hard it is to adjust in his heart that we have hot summers .. grin... we watched on tv lst night the white out across certain parts of the states.. and for us aussies, tis a little hard to have it sink in.. when today it will be 33 plus celcius.. shorts and tshirt weather.. so I thought I would share our aussie xmas day with you:) arise at 5 am (dragged out of bed by teenager) to open gifts.. ring friends and family (yep even the ones that dont have children and wish them a merry xmas) lol I love dragging people out of bed:) 6 am fill the bird feeders so the wild parrots, (cockatos, galahs, princess parrots can come to feed, they complain if I am late... chuckle) head for walk along the beach... arive back for breakfast.. today we are celebrating the spirit of xmas with our neighbours (as we moved to queensland 6 months ago) dress the table out on the back verandah, putting plenty of mossie coils out there.. drag out the small plastic pool.. so we can joke about having a pool party:) prepare the food but know it has to be kept inside today for the flies are a real nuisance and it will go off fairly quickly in the heat.. shut all windows early and have fans on to keep house cool, (I may put the airconditioner on in the afternoon) put xmas music on and rest until our friends show up to enjoy our feast with.. ........ so we cant throw snow balls.... but I will put a shrimp on the bbq (barbeque) for you today.. merry xmas everyone (and yes I know for those in the states its not until tomorrow) grin.. journey well Rebekah ===== To touch is to communicate.. wether with the heart, with words or just reaching out of yourself.
