OT: What a White and Soggy Christmas

Hey all - Is anybody else out there stuck in this heavy white mess? Here in

Cleveland we got about 8-12 inches of snow and then it rained this morning.

Talk about a pain in the back? Can't get the car of the drive, since we have

those old fashioned devices - heard of shovels? I finally got fed up and walked

in to the shop. There was one man in front of me on the sidewalk on our main

street and of course, every time you stepped, your boot went in a foot (get it,

a foot!). Anyway, I discovered that my waterproof boots aren't and now my socks

are soaked so I'm walking around the store bare feeted - but since nobody but

the mail man is dumb enough to come in, no one will know except you guys. The

extra pair of socks that my husband has had here for about a month, dirty but

dry, were finally taken home last night - drat!

Love that White Christmas -

YES...I also am stuck in the white stuff. We here in Monroeville (we are in

Huron county,

west of Cleveland) got about 24 inches of the white flaky stuff. My dh and ds

spent the biggest share of the day using a pair of the old fashioned devices.

Finally about 2pm we could get out the end of the driveway. It took until 8pm

for the township to come by with a plow. We had someone stuck on the hill (they

were coming down and the snow stopped them) in front of our house. A good sam

came by and pulled them out. Tomorrow we dig out the mother in law so she won't

have to spend Christmas alone. Kathy

Hi MaryEllen,

We got dumped on, but not as bad as to the south of us.

Just snow no rain.

For us we are not walking distance to anywhere.

Plus the dealer had my car. So even my husband stayed home

until he could go get my car.

Thankfully our son came over for a dinner brake and plowed us out.

He had started out at 4:30 this morning.

After dinner and a rest on my couch he left to go back to plowing some

more. He has a few places near us that he plows, so he always stops

here and does ours.

Would have been happy with a little less of a White Christmas.

It is pretty though.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Nancy

It's bad here , too....

Although we are used to a good dumping, it's been cold and windy, nasty...

My good friend Pine passed away, his funeral is today and somehow I

will manage to go..He taught me so much and was a respected Odawa

headman .( War and Peace chief)

Insisting on sovereignty and living the 'way', never owned more than he

could carry, lived in the woods and he taught me patience, acceptance

and the old way of Peace..I will miss him.
