Guest guest
" Interesting article on dangerous Herbals Remedies " http://tinyurl.com/5tfqj Hi all, I " tiny-ed " your link Kathleen, coz I couldn't get into the link you sent :-) Thanks - it's an interesting article and worth reading for those who use ayurvedic medicine. Another interesting page to keep an eye on for similar herbal horrors is the UK MHRA herbal warning page. Be warned - some of the remedies they looked at contained human placenta and excreta - donkey excreta this time - I think - as if that makes a difference!!! Eke! Go to http://medicines.mhra.gov.uk/ then to " A-Z subject index " , then on to " Herbal Medicine - Safety of " (under " H " in index) and finally you get to " Herbal Safety News " . (No easier way to link it - sorry) Currently they are concerned about Black cohash and liver reactions.Quote: " As of 1 November 2004 the Agency had received 15 reports of suspected adverse reactions associated with black cohosh, nine of which have been reports of liver reactions. The cases have ranged in severity from abnormal liver function to various forms of hepatitis. Generally patients recovered or were recovering after stopping black cohosh. " I do wonder if they are just as vigilant at recording adverse reactions to HRT? And to the diabolically cruel suffering that female horses (mares) endure to produce so called natural HRT? And the slaughter of the surplus foals? http://tinyurl.com/4f95t No - I doubt it. But then - I am grateful that agencies like MHRA are " on the ball " in alerting us to placenta pills and donkey dung. Some you win - some you lose :-(.
