Guest guest
I was wondering - my oldest TOTALLY VACCINATED ON SCHEDULE - child has come down with the whooping cough. Although, according to our doctor (who is pretty good on most occasions) is failing to diagnose it as that. The reason behind Drew (my ds) not being diagnosed with it is because he has been vaccinated (AAARRRGGGHHH!) Which, is bullshit, but that of course is just my opinion. It has been on our local news (a friend of mine was watching it the other night and told me about it making the rounds, which is really funny to me because it is primarily in college students who, as young children, I am almost sure, were vaccinated against it.) Anyway, I was wondering, what can be done for a cough that even prescription hydrocodone/codeine cough meds won't help. I feel really bad for my ds, he has got a double intraoccular hemmorhage in both eyes from coughing. Both of his eyes are black from it. He coughs so hard he vomits several times a day. I have tried everything I can think of to help him. He is 8 years old. He is sleeping in the recliner to keep him more upright. We are keeping the house cool - about 65 - because he does better. I have been using a crockpot with water and peppermint, camphor, and eucalyptus EO's to diffuse in the room as well as a cool mist humidifier. He has not been feverish or anything like that which is not uncommon for whooping cough. To read more about it or to hear what it sounds like, if anyone is interested, you can check out www.whoopingcough.net to learn the signs and symptoms of it. If anyone has any additional information or some help to offer, it would, at this point especially, be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jill Mc. Alabama The all-new My – What will yours do? Guest guest
Jill, You are doing what can be done, the poor boy. I would take it easy on the camphor, but that's me, I am not a fan of it... Go see a different Doc, ASAP, bring him to a walk in clinic if you have something like that, I really don't like what is happening to his eyes.
