Guest guest
Dear Josh, Hi there! Happy Holidays to you and your family. I have been thinking about oil holders that I have used over the past 20 years. I think that I have used any type of container, especially wood or heavily padded leather the most with styrafoam inserts to keep my bottles from moving around. I learned early on to carry small 1/8 oz. bottles with orifice reduces after having to take small empty bottles with small eyedroppers on an airplane trip. I swore not to do that again so now I only carry the basic oils when I travel. However, when I am going by car I try to find old wooden, empty wine boxes (the kind that people give wine in at Christmas) and cut styrafoam pieces to fit the wooden containers. Then I punch holes of different sizes in the styrafoam to accomadate my different size bottles. These wooden boxes can also be used at home when you need to store extra bottles that you may not be using quickly under a bed, in a closet, in your dh's Boy Scout Foot Locker, and etc. As for storage at home, I have built-in 8 ft. tall wooden book shelves that I store my oils on (used to be alphabetical order but recently everything's gotten a bit messed up) and in a walk-in closet that has built-in shelves (these oils are still alphabetized because they are labeled and someone in my family can actually read now ;-D & it is not me). I also have two outbuildings for holding bottles and other business related stuff. I also collect wooden boxes of all sizes to carry different size bottles of oil when I do shows. I hope that this helps. So far everyone has wonderful ideas. Good Luck! Happy Holidays! Guest guest
Hey Josh, > What do you folks all use to hold your essential oil kits when > traveling? Just curious what anyone's found to be the safest, > most organized, etc. Nothing is guaranteed safe but I have NEVER EVER had a bottle of oil break while traveling .. and I travel a lot. I have an extra saving kit bag I carry them in .. nothing organized about it. I normally put it in the middle of my suitcase when traveling by air .. but I wrap T-Shirts and such around it. When I get where I'm going I always travel via a rental car and it and my regular shaving kit rides behind me on the seat. I also carry a few oil in my carry on luggage .. not a problem with any of the airlines as long as the bottle contents are marked. > I suppose, also, I'd like to know how you keep them organized at > home or work, too! Chris already answered this one .. but mine are organized in a very large room that is air conditioned in the summer and unheated in the winter. We have rows of shelves and steel lock cabinets for some of the precious oils .. plus some of the oils are kept in a refrigerator. In the winter .. my folks have to wear sweaters and such in the pouring room .. but that's something we can't avoid. > -Josh Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
Hi Josh, I don't have a huge collection of oils yet. what I've done thus far is simply keep my oils in a small basket (no alphabetical order, just dumped in there, lol) in my office. I have a few at any given time in my bathroom closet with my bath supplies. I have a small pouch/change purse that I use for travel, about 10 oils will fit upright in there and I just stick it in my purse and go. I suppose I will have to get more organized as I get more oils...thanks for asking this question! :-) Terri
