Miron Violet Glass Bottles

Hey y'all,

 

When I began planning to open Appalachian Valley Natural Products the

first command decision I made was to use Miron Violet Glass .. it took

not a lot of brain strain to determine they were the finest to be had in

the entire world. It was a major start up investment .. I mean pallets

of different sizes. I still use them today for Retail sales and will

They look almost black. On 11 August 1999 we had a Full Sun Eclipse in

Turkey .. enterprising folks were selling smoked glass and whatever on

every street corner the day before. My employees and I stood on my

office balcony and watched it for the entire period .. using 100 ml

Miron Violet Glass .. it was a wonderful sight fer'shur. For those

Perhaps coincidental .. some scientists still wonder ..six days after

the eclipse, at 0305 in the morning .. 17 August 1999 .. we had the

largest earthquake in memory here in Turkey .. I spent the next seven

days in Golcuk (the epicenter) digging out bodies .. few were alive.

Turkey had more than 22,000 deaths in that quake. :-(

I believe you will find that there are no U.S. sizes now .. hasn't been

for a long time. And you will see that they don't offer 15 ml sizes so

long ago I elected to use 20 ml sizes and charge the same price most do

for their 15 ml sizes. Truth is .. some folks don't look at sizes as

much as they do prices.

Probably can do that .. there is a handling charge for anything less

than a pallet. Before anyone asks .. I don't want to get into bottle

sales as the salary I pay my employees is more than the profit to be

gained from the time required to package and ship bottles.

Very well made .. a sophisticated process resulting from sound research

rather than speculation and marketing hype .. as is the case when folks

try to justify clear glass bottles. We have a choice of believing the

information below .. or someone saying that clear glass is superior to

colored glass and we should accept that information because of the

credentials of the one making the claim. ;-)

 

Years ago I stated on this list that the protective capability against

photochemical change of glass ranges with the colors of the Spectrum ..

starting and ending in that order. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue,

Indigo and Violet .. Violet being the most protective. If Miron Violet

was not the finest then I would be an irresponsible businessman for

Most of the glass bottles found today are mass produced in India and

China .. rarely does one find glass bottles produced in industrialized

countries because of labor costs vs profit margin. But Miron Violet is

an exception. Some are produced in Switzerland and some in Germany ..

labor costs in both countries are higher than in the U.S.A.

We beat that when I opened the door to my wholesale/retail operation in

Maryland .. built a shadow box with a light in the background. Then as

we grew we began to use precise measuring instruments so now we fill a

bottle with ZERO TOLERANCE for error .. and in no cases will any bottle

have less than it claims to have .. it will have a silly tad more than

claimed .. every time .. due to the measuring instruments.
