Guest guest
Hi Jo, M & P soap isn't necessarily " bad " per se, it is a great medium for certain artistic endeavors .... but many M & P bases contain synthetic detergents, which I'm not too fond of - and any that are true " soap " will have been made with lye As for being scared about using lye to make soap from scratch - I always tell this to folks ... messing with boiling water is at least as, if not more, dangerous than working with lye. With both you have to take some precautions, but as long as you do, its not a big deal Get a good set of goggles, some gloves, some time to be left alone uninterrupted (say by little kids) and you'll have no worries! We're here for you whenever you decide to take the plunge - just be warned, soap making is an addiction *Smile* Chris (list mom) Make The Holidays Sparkle Sterling Silver Perfume Pendants http://www.alittleolfactory.com <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> Christine- than you for that info. I have often wondered about that. So is melt and pour glycerin based soap bad? I want to make true soap with lye, but it scares me! LOL Any tips?
