OT KNITTING

I have a question about a knitting pattern, that is, IF anyone knits! LOL

I am looking for a " magic scarf " pattern which is a tube type scarf that

stretches and can be worn as a cowl, a regular scarf, a muff, etc.

I have tried to find a pattern for it, but I don't want to spend a fortune on a

knitting book that I may use just 1 or two times. Our library is insufficient

in crafts.

Can anyone help or point me to a source that is relatively inexpensive?

TIA!

Hi Jill,

Just get a pair of knitting needles to make socks - they are connected so

you keep knitting in circles - and use any pattern in the stitches?

I will try that I have a small set here. I don't know if I need a bigger gauge

of needle or not.

Thanks!

You are welcome - grin

I attended a girls school, and wore a uniform, and somewhere along the way,

it became fashionable to knit a scarf in the school colours - one end

around my neck and the other end on knitting needles. They got to be about

6ft long in the end - grin

Okay.... I am reviving this OT thread because of something I found

over the holidays ----and have become addicted to! Jill, here is your

solution for a magic scarf!

You see... I cannot knit. My mother tried to teach me when I was

young. I got frustrated and never tried to learn the rest of my life.

Now my 11 year old daughter has learned to knit and caught on so fast

and well.

I was looking for Christmas gifts to give her...

****and found the Knifty Knitter for myself! Now I can knit! It is

so easy and so fun. I have cranked out 3 scarves already. I like the

thin, thin tube ones made out of the boa and fun fur and eyelash

yarns!! They are soooo beautiful and cost me $6 to $10 to make.

Can't beat that with a stick!

I got my set at Michaels for $15.

I have since found many other sites for round-loom knitting and

knitting boards. There isn't anything I can't 'knit' now!

Hope you enjoy! This is for beginners and seasoned knitters (just a

faster and easier way with lots of room for challenging projects!)
