Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this condition they

would share with me? I have been approached by the mother of a 14-

year-old girl who suffers from the condition. The mother would like

me to make a blend she can use to massage her daughter to alleviate

the symptoms - mostly pain, inflammation and redness. The reason

alarm bells ring for me is because it is an auto-immune disease and I

am concerned about stimulating an immune response (with EOs). For

example, I was advised that taking Echinacea extract is not

appropriate for those with auto-immune conditions.

All advice greatly appreciated.

Jane, I have no knowledge of aromatherapy,

but I do know this about ANY auto-immune

disease:

You can take some health-building measures that

have nothing to do with treating disease, but that

have been found helpful in many cases of

auto-immune misery.

*cleanse and heal the intestinal tract

* replenish intestinal flora

*Get the digestive system in tip-top shape

with digestive enzymes

*activate the liver

*investigate allergies

Please note, again, that nobody is talking

disease treatment here! It is simply a matter of

improving a body system.

Since your area is aroma therapy, think of

which oils would most strengthen those

body systems.

One herb that has been found safe to use in

auto-immune diseases is Una de Gato or

Cat's Claw.
