Guest guest
I asked this question, also, a while back. Not cocoa, specifically, but any eo in lip balm. I was concerned about ingestion. The consensus seemed to be that any that might be ingested would be such a tiny amount as to not be significant. I make lip balms with eo's now, and have sold some at craft shows. They are a big hit, probably because they are my cheapest item. Currently, I have coconut, made with virgin coconut oil and coconut absolsute, doublemint, made with spearmint and peppermint eo, lavender made with lavender eo (yes, lavender!) I know it sounds strange, but I, personally, love it, and have had some interest in them by others, as well. I also have a rose one that has rose absolute in it, oh how rich this one is! My newest addition are " chocolate lip sheers " . These are made with unrefined cocoa butter and cocoa absolute. Smell just like chocolate and people love them. I have a clear one, and also one I add mica to. My initial attempt was to make a lipstick-type product, but the amount of mica needed to be added to get any color to transfer to the lips was out of this world, so I just call them sheers and market them to young girls, because the color is literally so sheer it can't be seen. But they like the chocolate smell and can pretend they are putting on lipstick for dress-up. Like the other poster said, though, it all depends on an individual's sensitivity to this sort of thing, eo's around the mouth, etc. I keep my % levels safe, and because I sell them, add the usual warning label that the item has not been lab tested for safety, etc. Christy _______________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
