Guest guest
I hope I'm not opening up a can of worms . . . . what is your objection to the flu shot? I know there must be something wrong with them, with the 'shortage' here in the states and the surrounding circumstances, doesn't leave a consumer with that 'warm fuzzy feeling'. Guest guest
Hi Pamela: I thought I would answer this also about the flu shots. I am a diabetic and the doctor (my old doctor) decided I should have one. Well, for the next 2 years I did as he asked and got them. I caught pneumonia both times and decided not to be dog sick again, ever. last year I had no flu shot, stayed indoors at home when the illnesses were going around so heavily and took 1,000 units (3 tablets per day) of L-Lysine and didn't even get a cold. Same thing this year, so far and no more shots for me. I was told they had several bad batches of the flu vaccine this year and that's why it's so scarce. I guess i just don't trust them anymore. My " new " and favorite doctor now, told me not to even bother with the flu shots. I'm sure not going to, LOL. Guest guest
I'm going to put my two-bits in here... Some people are allergic to eggs, a base they use to make the flu shot. Other people have experienced more sickness the year they have the flu shot. I personally think it depends upon your medical condition with whether or not you should get the flu shot or not. I'm a cashier, so my immune system is quite stimulated by coming into contact with all sorts of bugs etc from the money and customers (I don't get sick that often), but my husband on the other hand suffers from congestive heart failure following a heart attack years ago... I've been getting the flu shot ever since then to limit the possibility of him contracting the flu through me... he's been getting them too. Its much too scary to think of him getting the flu or other sickness with his condition. For me I think it is worthless. I have seen my parents get the shot every year now for about 6 years. Some years they still get the flu. I'm not gonna say anything to them at all. No reason to. For myself and my kids... they won't ever get one. Also, a big controversy about *any* vacinne is the mercury that is put into vacinnes (including flu shots). The mercury is supposed to kill bacteria or some such non-sense (in going back through some notes I have on dental amalgams, I can across that reference again). I worked in dentistry for 11 years and for about 6 of them, I was the one mixing up the dental amalgam for placement. I've been exposed to enough mercury I feel. Guest guest
I hope your husband is doing well - that is so scary to see a loved one suffer. My husband had heart problems last month, but thank goodness, is doing better now.
