Restless Leg Syndrome - another odd 'remedy

This is something that was discussed on an aromatherapy group earlier this

year, but it's another weird remedy coming up :

Get a bag of red wine corks and put it by your feet at the bottom of the bed -

that's all - apparently it works!

even if it's on the floor in the morning.

One therapist says that when she treated someone for this she gave them a cork

to hold in each hand during her treatment and this also helped - didn't matter

what type of wine!

Sounds silly but............

Bar of soap under the sheets, corks..

It all sounds a bit weird, but many people swear by it. I have had

restless leg syndrome for many years too and found it went away when I

had to sleep with a small pillow between my knees, to help my healing hip.

I've got my idea about it :)

Don't know how many of you have heard about the Feldenkrais form of

'exercise'. It's a subtle , very strange way of stimulating muscles and

nerves, that we usually never use, to take over if we have an accident

that put's out of commission the usual muscles and nerves. Feldenkrais

has identified those never used muscles and nerves and the

practitioners have a series of 'exercises'* that will stimulate them.

For instance, when young I broke my right arm. I am right handed, so I

was not happy about it :)

However, wthin a few short days , I could write perfectly well with my

right arm and was thrilled.Could sew, do needlework. Thought I could be

ambidextrous from now on.. Yipppeee :)

NO, when my right arm healed and I could use it again, all that new

learned behavior of my left arm went away, as fast as I got it.

Maybe, just maybe, if we put something foreign into our bed, there is

suddenly a muscle, nerve on alert, that prevents the restless jumping of

limbs.. I dunno..just a guess....

* Feldenkrais is not an exercise to loose weight. It' s weird, strange,

but people swear by it, that understand it ..:)
