Guest guest
Hi Deb, It's amazing to me how many Dr's put women on the pill to regulate their periods, when estrogen (especially synthetic) is the LAST thing a woman needs at the onset of perimenopause. Meno is a natural life transition, but Dr.'s just love to control it and/or make it " go away " . Glad you're going with the flow! A much more sound idea, since it's inevitable at some point anyway to create natural balance! The heavy bleeding is caused by a drop in progesterone and an excess of estrogen. Because the cycle becomes irregular (missed ovulation, etc), blood actually does just really build up in the uterine walls, and then sloughs off to the point where you can feel like your insides are dropping out. I'll reframe from graphic details to spare the guys in the group! Unfortunately, it's not as simple as increasing water intake. The drying only happens (vaginal) as estrogen drops significantly closer to actual menopause and during postmenopause. Natural progesterone cream and phytoestrogens can quickly bring your cycles back to normal. Dr's don't tell you that though, because they don't know it, and because they don't make any money when you go to the vitamin store and self treat. Sounds like you've got sciatica Deb. Ouch. Not much a Dr. can do for that either :-( Michelle http://www.holisticmenopause.com
