Guest guest
Ien, Most health food stores carry Ezekial Bread...like your Silverhills it takes some getting used to eating but now I won't eat anything else. Bread in the US is like eating cardboard.....everything has the goodness refined out of it.... sigh.... Sandi BlackKat Herbs http://www.blackkatherbs.com Christmas Specials Now Online! Guest guest
Folks, bring your reading glasses to the supermarket and read those labels! At home we eat Silverhills bread. It is made by a bakery that was originally part of a Seventh Day Adventist retreat. Organically grown wheat is sprouted and then ground. Once you are used to it anything else tastes like fluff. On vacation in the USA I tried finding something at least 100% whole wheat. Amazing how many decent looking breads list " enriched flour " or " unbleached flour " as the first ingredient! This included all those beautiful crusty fresh breads in the supermarket bakeries. Very disappointing. There was actually a greater choice ibn 100%WW in the pre-packaged section. If you're in an active mood and have a moment, talk to the bakery manager in your local store and ask for real bread. Consumer activism is a strong power for positive change! Guest guest
I think I missed the Who Knew Cold Cereal Did This thread... but finding good bread is a frustration I share. Think it's hard to find whole grain bread? Try finding whole grain bread with no corn syrup or hydrogenated oils in it. Supposedly hydrogenated oils are among the worst things we put in our bodies. Refined grains merely deplete you... hydrogenated oils stick around and require cleansing to undo. -Josh
