Guest guest
I don't have anything really woodsy on hand. Here is the situation: I have a VBAC client (pregnancy) who is not much into visualization for relaxation. Very much a 'just tell me like it is' kind of working style. No problem. What she thought she would like to do in early labor is go for a hike. She loves to hike. Now her baby is due mid-December. She's out in major New England forest region - I could have reached out and hugged a deer with a huge rack on his head the other night as I drove slowly and wisely out to her home and I saw many a pair of gleaming eyeballs lurking further out. Odds are great that she may not get a chance to hike during labor due to weather conditions on any given day. As a part of my sessions/work with her I love to be creative in finding ways for women to labor. I've not yet introduced the topic of aromatherapy to her and when I do it would be very subtle. As others have said 'you can lead a horse to water...' Subtle is the way to go. Anyway, I would like to create a blend that would be reminiscent of nature and her beloved woods as I have also helped her to realize that she can associate hiking with her labor: you hike until you find a spot to make camp - her nest. I do not have any woodsy oils on hand (well, I have Cedarwood Atlas would that help?). I do have labor/female associated oils such as pennyroyal, clary sage, rose otto, vetiver. I do have Lemon Tea Tree, Rom and German Cham, Rose Geranium, Rosemary cineole. Butch, now I swear I thought I'd ordered that oregano from you.....shoot. I do a nice basic blend of pennyroyal, clary sage and vetiver for active/late first stage labor as they will help with the efficiency of contractions...along with other things I recommend. That's a bit herbal in itself but is there something else I have on hand that will make the blend more reminiscent of the woods? Any help would be appreciated. I'm due to see her on Thursday and I would like to have something in hand to bring with me. Thank you!! Dale
