Hey Kathleen,

> Here we have a ittle wittle bittle Turkey... Every Thanksgiving it's the

> same, Husband says " get a SMALL Turkey this year "

>

> I always say " yes, I'll bring home the smallest one I can find " Go to

> Costco, rifle through EVERY Turkey in the pot and bring home the BIGGEST

> turkey I can find and say it's the smallest in the shop.

Good it is .. that is called .. passive aggressive behavior. ;-)

> My kids were like " Daddy, come quick, you have to see this it's ENORMOUS!

> (Gee thanks kids! LOL). It's a toss up on which one weighs more, HOney

> Bunny or the Turkey... Turkey weighs 24.14 pounds. BRING ON THE SANDWICHES!

> ROFLMAO!

Turkey sammiches is gud sammiches .. same with turkey bits and pieces

stirred up with a gud gravy and poured over rice and such.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving and eat Turkey here in Turkey (Turkiye)

but there is a Sukran Bayram (Thanksgiving) at a different time .. and

in the past few years Turks who are not Christians .. not even good

Moslems for that matter .. have gotten into the habit of Noel Trees ..

and they got'em lit up in their homes rat naw.

Me being single now .. not complaining .. just explaining .. ;-) I'm

gonna go out with my Tennessee Redneck geologist buddy tomorrow night

and eat some fish and lamb chops and drink a buncha raki and then go to

Papsi and drink some beer and maybe flirt with some purty gals if I find

some .. and I'll wake up Friday afternoon around 5 or so and wonder why

I did such a dumb thing again.

Howsomeever .. IF .. I was gonna cook a turkey .. especially one as big

as that monster you done bought .. there is a recipe I been wanting to

try for a long time .. and I sure do wish you would try it out for me

and lemme know how it comes out.

This turkey recipe includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing - imagine

that! When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people

like me, who just are not sure how to thoroughly cook poultry without

drying it out. So if you would be so kind as please to try it and give

me a holler on how it works .. I'll be forever grateful and I'll even go

so far as to forgive you for your Liberal leanings. ;-)

BAKED POPCORN STUFFED TURKEY

23.6 - 24.24 pound turkey

2 cups melted butter

2 cups stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good)

2 cups uncooked popcorn (Orville Redenbachers Low Fat is good)

Salt/pepper/whatever to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush the big fat turkey well with melted

butter, salt, pepper and whatever. Fill that monstrous cavity with

stuffing and popcorn. Place that sucker in a baking pan with the neck

end of the bird toward the back of the oven.

Bake .. and listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey's butt blows the oven door open and the turkey flies

across the room, it is done.

> Happy " Stuff yourselves until you drop " Day. ;-)

And you .. and may all those who do or don't celebrate Thanksgiving

think on what have to be thankful for. For health and family and

friends .. for living in free countries .. and for the men and women in

uniform who will not be able to be with their loved ones this year

because they are what they are .. God Bless them one and all!

> Cheers!
