However it depends on the carrier oil used also, and maybe the eo, or fo. I made a batch made with Sunflower oil (that I bought off the grocery shelf), and 6 months later it had a rancid type smell. Sweet Almond I've heard does the same thing, but I've had no problem with it myself in the few soaps I use it in. Nikie, I know you use Sweet Almond, at least I think you do, can you answer here? But if you are using Olive, Coconut, Palm, Palm Kernel, Cocoa Butter, Castor, Shea, or the more long term shelf life oils, then I won't use the word " indefinitely " , but will just say, a long time.
