Intro & Myrtle request

Hi everyone,

I am a new member and have been going through all the fantastic information in

your archives and would now like to introduce myself. I live in Adelaide

(Australia) and have been learning and playing with Essential oils for a few

years now. Recently I started a course to get some formal qualifications in AT

and am loving it! My thirst for knowledge far outweighs the amount of time I

have to feed it :)

I have been given a major assignment for the course and that is on Sweet Myrtle,

I believe this is also known as Green Myrtle and True Myrtle. I have to find

out as much as I can and give a presentation towards the end of the course with

all sorts of lovely information. I have researched online and in AT & Herbal

books, but I was wondering if anyone else had any information or links to

information that they could share with me?

It's nice to be with such an informative list :)

Hi Tania,

Nice to see you here :-)) I'll even come out of the Lurkorium to welcome

you to one of the best lists on the web !

Got a botanical name for that Myrtle ? That'll make it easier ( & safer!)

to pass on info to you.

It's threatening to get stinking hot outside again today, so I'm happy

to come back inside this arvo & dig through some books & links.

Back to the Shed right now though, as it's a soaping day for me today

while the weather is good for it.

Jane :-))

I'm looking for any info on the Myrtus communis commonly referred to as sweet

myrtle or green myrtle I believe. I'm thankful for any info you or anyone else

can give me and I've contacted Butch off list to get myself a copy of Martin

Watt's Plant Aromatics Safety Data Manual and some different types of Myrtle EO

and hydrosol.

If you have any blending ideas, I'd really appreciate your experience.

PS We got a nice cool change and some rain through yesterday, so you should be

getting some cooler weather your way in the next day or so :)
