Guest guest
Anna, Wow, thanks for sharing this! :-) I often say that our medical profession today is no longer governed by the hypocratic oath, but by drug companies and insurance companies. There are lots of cures, remedies and antedotes out there for many of the diseases and injuries we face as a population. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if everything has a cure...but the drug companies would never let that information be released as long as they are in power. Diseases such as cancer and AIDS are HUGE economic money makers, so why eliminate them? Sorry if I sound jaded, but I have very little faith in today's conventional medical profession and I only *see* a minute part of what goes on behind the scenes. It's truly a sad state of affairs. Kelly, Your sure right on what you wrote. The Dr's have their hands tied. The with attorneys that advertize all the time, it shoots up their malpractice insurance. The Dr's have to go along with the insurance co. So they are unable to treat people the way they use to. The drug co's won't and don't want to reseach new drugs, as they make more money by not curing the people. The whole thing is very sad. They are really run by the drug companies and insurance companies. There are quite a few who refused to do this. Luckily for my husband (a dentist) he was going to seminars with really great groups -who instead of teaching/sermonizing to the doctors on how to make the changes with the insurance companies (back when HMOs & PPOs first came on the scene) work and how to " just get in line and take their medicine " ... they talked about just telling them " up yours " and running their businesses as they wanted to. It meant informing the patients about what was *really* going on and why he doesn't belong to any PPOs or HMOs and why they must file their own claims or just pay out of their own pocket for quality dentistry dictated by a dentist and not by the agendas of the insurance industry (read 'pockets of the insurance industry'). The funny thing is that he did not lose patients over it. They wanted the better care and are still coming for more. You do not sound jaded at all --you sound bright to me! That is of course why I am here on this list... so many wonderful people and minds on this list. Oh yeah, got a great web page. I think this guy is brilliant. I've started to pass this around to people in hopes that they can see the " other side " -what I consider to be the true side- of real health. I suggest starting with his intro page and one of the " chapter " articles called " The Last Resort " (both of which I find pretty hard-hitting --love it!). Just wait till you read some of the other stuff! http://www.thedoctorwithin.com./index_fr.html?content=content.html Just got a huge compliment from a young girl (25 years old) on Wednesday -she was asking a lot of questions/very friendly. Turns out she thought I was 27 years old and wanted to start up a friendship with someone in the area (new to the area). She found out I had 2 kids and I am 40 years old. She was shocked --and so was I!! Needless to say --I consider her my bestest friend now! I attribute it all to staying away from doctors & medications, not listening to any media, eating well -no processed foods/lots of good water, getting outside, working hard and smiling a lot! Not a whole lot else needed IMHO. (Okay, I am learning that I can use some other things like Butch's oregano and other's expertise for the coming middle-age years. Wonder what it's gonna be like. Hope it goes as well as the first 40 have gone!) Andrea
