Guest guest
I used to use Glade Plugins in my house. When my granddaughter and her bf visited last Christmas I had a plug in in the room they stayed in. He got a severe case of hives as soon as he went in the room. When he was downstairs where there were none, it cleared up. The plugin was the only thing that was different and when I removed it, the hives went away as soon as they came. Also they seem to cause respiratory problems. Neysa
Guest guest
I'll second that Neysa. I have allergic asthma - I only have to walk in a house that uses Glade air fresheners - especially plug-ins - and my breathing gets difficult. The worse things, however, are those in-car air fresheners - the things that hang from the mirror, etc. In a confined, warm space - my chest just closes up. The thing is I bottle essential oils by the dozen and it doesn't affect me at all!!! According the legislation being threatened/progressed in the EU, my asthma should be crippling when I'm around EOs but I've never never had that closing up feeling from them. Guest guest
There is also another problem with Glade Plug Ins ... this info was in my homeowner's association newsletter a few months back .. They are Fire Hazards! Due to the cheap plastic and construction that is used, they malfunction pretty easily - meaning that they melt, they short and cause MANY home fires. The variety that has a nightlight in it was said to be particularly hazardous. It was in the top 5 list of preventable home fire causes. Seems that they are best to not be used. If folks REALLY want to use a plug in diffuser, get a Scent Ball, which has a blank pad that you can use put whatever EO you want on, and then also be sure to unplug it after a while Or even better - get an Aromastone from Carrie at Scent Garden http://www.scentgarden.com *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com - Neysa Dormish I used to use Glade Plugins in my house. I have allergic asthma - I only have to walk in a house that uses Glade air fresheners - especially plug-ins - and my breathing gets difficult. I have asthma too but they never bothered me that way until after I stopped using them and then went somewhere that used them. I know some perfumes choke me up badly.... EOs dont bother me either!!! I think the " regulators " should stay out of our business. I cant see how they would know all that much when you consider Vioxx, Bextra, etc, both of which were prescribed for me but I didnt take them. Thanks! neysa
