Anaesthetic in system after surgery

Hi folks

I hope someone can help me. December 2003 I had surgery for a urinary problem

and prolapses, the surgery was fine and the recovery slow but uncomplicated

according to the gynaecologist. However it took until September for me to feel

like the anaesthetic was out of my system, and felt well enough to get back to

my regular walking exercise regime and feel like I could go out and enjoy it,

rather than drag myself along.

I have just had another surgery, minor bowel repair this time, and again feel

very fuzzy headed and not quite " with it "

I do not take medication usually and as a result the drugs given to me in

hospital and the recovery " knock me flat " . Once I got home the only medication I

continued with was the antibiotics, all pain meds I stopped immediately.

I feel it is the anaesthetic that is in my system causing this " fog " , any

suggestions please that have worked for you.

Thanks in advance.

Jocelyn.
