Hi Kelly,

What kind of balm are you wanting to make for babies with comfrey? Only

thing I could think of would be maybe a balm for minor cuts and scrapes

..... but infants don't usually have that problem - that comes more with

the crawling, walking ages ;)

As for a nipple ointment - I don't think you need to or want to use

comfrey in it. Even a cracked nipple can heal up quite nicely with

something as simple as shea butter - I use a nice combo of gentle oils

like shea, olive, jojoba in my nipple ointment blend .... Lanolin is

commonly used, but many folks are sensitive to lanolin, so using a shea

based ointment is a nice alternative :) I don't think you'd need to use

any kind of herbal infused oil for that. As far as infants go - the

blander the better :)

Is infused comfrey oil safe to use in a balm for infants or a nursing

mom's

nipples? Would any herbal infused oils be okay?

Thanks for any insight! :-)

Thanks for your reply, Chris! :-) I was thinking of a diaper rash type

ointment with the comfrey, but I like your idea better!! Maybe I'll try

some of that " un-petroleum " jelly.

Thanks again!
