Guest guest
Hi, folks, Non-soapers please bear with me--this is a huge list and since I only heard about this recall by chance I'm doing my best to spread the word. I will take 10 lashes (wet noodles only) via email. Soapers---Rival is doing a voluntary recall on crockpots due to the HANDLES crumbling when there's been very little use and no damage done to them!! I have one of the pots under recall and both the handles pretty much just disintegrated--I thank Whoever's running this show that I wasn't lugging a potful of raw soap when it happened! Here's the gory details and information on getting a new base for your crockpot: Manufacturer: Rival Models: 3040, 3735, 5025, 5070, 5445 manufactured prior to May 2002. Your model number should be the first line on your UL label on the bottom side of the pot. Reason for recall (from the recall notice): " The Rival Slow Cooker's handles on these models can break, posing a risk of burns from hot contents spilling onto consumers. " Contact info: " If you purchased one of these Rival Slow Cookers, stop using it immediately and contact The Holmes Group, Inc. Call 1-800-299-1284 Rival Consumer Services 32-B Spur Drive El Paso, TX 79906 http://www.rivalrecall.com ***When you call you will need the Date Code from your slow cooker--this is located on the outside edge of one of the prongs on the plug. The ones that begin with Y are the ones being recalled. I made the call to get mine replaced today--turns out you send them that plug off the base, and they send you a new base plus reimburse your shipping for the plug. If there's any questions just email me at serraangel @ chartermi.net HTH someone, I'm not likely to be the only one who has one of these.
