Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was spending the evening w/my parents & noticed my Dad has horrible " rot " under his toenails. He said it's very painful for him & you can actually see the discoloration under the nail. He said it constantly itches & hurts. He regularly showers & bathes & even stopped wearing dark socks (because one doctor told him it could be an allergic reaction to the dyes). The docs have cut the toenail off a couple of times, but that was extremely painful. He doesn't currently have medical, so he won't go to a specialist. Does anyone here know of a product that is helpful w/foot fungus? I'm kinda limited & have only given him tea tree & lavender blends in the past. I need something STRONG 'cause this stuff is heavy-duty nasty! Thanks in advance for your thoughts & help. Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I can tell you my grandfather, some years back, was on prescription where he was to take oregano oil capsules (this was from a totally conventional doc BTW) for some issue he was having (he has had so many issues over the years, I can't recall what it was for .. anyway .. he told me that the " side effect " of taking the oregano oil capsules was that his toe nail fungus of over 30 years cleared right up! Also, tea tree is excellent for fungal issues and so is the herb taheebo (Pau D'arco). Actually my mom used to have bad athlete's foot that nothing would clear up and she tried using taheebo and it went right away never to return! If it were me, I'd take bit of oregano oil daily, drink a cup of taheebo bark tea and do a foot soak of a strong taheebo bark decoction with a drop of tea tree in it and maybe a drop of oregano oil in it (or at least an infusion of oregano herb with the decoction of taheebo bark) .... Also I'd make a blend of oregano oil and tea tree oil diluted in a carrier oil an put that on the nail in the morning and at night .... That's what I'd do *Smile* Chris (list mom) NEW - Lovely Perfume Bottles & Aromatherapy Pendants NEW - Red Salt Glow Scrub & Coffee Scrubs - Wrapped For Giving! http://www.alittleolfactory.com <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> Tammy Tivis [elements1] Hi Everyone, I was spending the evening w/my parents & noticed my Dad has horrible " rot " under his toenails. Guest guest
Darn Chris, that's great to know ! Glad you posted this one cause I know a lot of people that won't take the meds for this condition. I guess they are just horrible on the organs, esp. the liver and skin. Where do you find the oregano capsules or is it just the herb inside the capsule ? Huggs, Jenn jennsbellamiaskin - Christine Ziegler Saturday, November 13, 2004 8:28 PM RE: Toe/foot fungus help! Guest guest
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Vicks VapoRub treatment for toenail fungus. Cheap and easy, and from what I understand, very effective. Perhaps not the best ingredient list on the planet, but seems like it would be worth it to be rid of that nasty affliction. Maybe I'm just assuming, but it sounds like you haven't had a direct experience with using it. I think that the story about the Vicks Vapor rub gets spread around, but I have not heard anyone come forward who actually did it themselves and had success. My mother has the toe-nail fungus. I wish she would actually use some of the things I give her (usually foot oil soaks w/EO's). I would like to see this gone for her because she has the beginning stages of diabetes also. I am going to purchase Butch's oregano oil. I have read many people's stories of their actual use of it --and I've got to use it myself! I really appreciated it when Butch asked that people only give their actual experience with Vitex instead of passing around what they heard. It gives you a different viewpoint when asking for a recommendation and then considering what to try. Andrea

It has stuck with me so much that before I go to post something, I remember that it has to be a real experience that I have had. Guest guest
I know this sounds crazy but it works like you won't believe - put Vick's vapo-rub on it twice a day. The store brand works just as good and costs less. My DH had horrible nail fungus and no medical coverage so no going to the Dr. Someone told him to try Vicks and I couldn't believe how fast it worked ! I'm sure you could make a salve very similar to Vicks. Paula ........in Michigan Coming soon Farm Fresh Soaps & Candles - Tammy Tivis Group Saturday, November 13, 2004 11:18 PM Toe/foot fungus help!
