Hello Jen, Dale and all, Along this thread, I have just found a newly published in English, GREAT new book: The Female Pelvis: Anatomy & Exercises by Blandine Calais-Germain http://www.eastlandpress.com/books/the_female_pelvis_anatomy_exercises.php While this book is mostly oriented towards childbirth, it's also got a lot of interesting stuff for all other phases of a woman's life. I have been studying alternative medicine on my own and formally for many many years. Been through massage school, been through TCM school, and still I learned quite a bit from this book. I highly recommend it and the price at $24.95 USD is certainly right. Christina, L.Ac.
Guest guest
Oh and I forgot to mention that it's got info about epidurals and how to avoid them, if you want to, with exercise and massage, etc. --- " Christina, L.Ac. Guest guest
Wow! Thanks for the resource. I will check this one out. Could be extremely useful for when I demonstrate to women that the tailbone is not fixed, rather moves out of the way as baby descends - the greatest reason why women should not birth lying on their backs and sitting on a hospital bed is not the most optimal either. Thanks Christina!! Dale - Christina, L.Ac. Guest guest
All that and MORE! Not only will it show that about the tail bone, but it has exercises to learn to move the tail bone and the surrounding muscles voluntarily and consciously! Not only will it show why women should not be lying on their backs (for the tail bone and other reasons), but it will show positions to be in and others to avoid close to birth to encourage the baby to be in the optimum position. And more. It's really a great book and for $24.95!!! I have learned a lot from skimming the book only once. --- Dale Bernucca <dbernucca wrote: > > Wow! Thanks for the resource.
