I definitely agree about the lavender, but I don't agree about not using the aloe. Those helpful herbaceous plants feel neglected and unappreciated when they aren't used for their good qualities It won't mind a little snip taken from it now and then, it'll actually make the plant happier, lots of herbs are like that - my rosemary and mint and thyme can't stand it when I neglect them *lol* Also, one only needs a little aloe gel for the average burn > Got busy doing four things at one time EARLY in the morning last weekend > (and a morning person I ain't) so while pouring scalding water out for a > cuppa tea I was holding the dang cup over the sink and poured some over > my hand. It was a bit red that day and the next two days .. but now > I can't even tell where I was burned. I spilled some scalding tea water onto myself the other morning after getting the kids in the car to take my older one to school, and I whipped out my handy dandy bottle of lavender and I applied it (yes, it was neat, IMHO the benefits outweighed the risks in this first aid situation) and the sting went right away, and the red healed up right away too, same day! I find one of the BEST burn treatments is a bit of Lavender EO (l. angustifolia) and German Chamomile EO (Matricara recutita) added to aloe gel - and refrigerated is even better! > Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
