Christmas Gift recipes needed

Hi there,

Our family has decided to make gifts this year for Christmas and I

wanted to make bath salts or bath oils for everyone (using different

oils or teas for different people). Does anyone have good recipes for

such things? I have never done this before. I have only made oils

for short term use.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Krista,

Have you tried the toiletries database of recipes? They have a lot of

recipes that most any home chemist <grin> can do!

Here's the link: http://thelibrary.luxurylane.com/

Click on the recipes button at the top of the page.....and it will take you

to the page where you can choose amongst soap recipes, bath salts,

lotions....a little bit of everything. This is where I got my start in

formulating stuff other than soap. I have since moved on to making my own

creations....

However, I made several of the items listed in the Toiletries Library, and

it gave me the courage to formulate on my own.

Hope this helps! And good luck on your gifts!

P.S. As long as you are making something with dry ingredients or all oils

(anhydrous), you don't have to worry about adding preservatives. If you are

using an oil that has a short shelf life, you will want to consider adding

an antioxidant (Like Vitamin E or T-50 Mixed Tocopherols) to add stability

to your oils. Have fun, and if you have any other questions, please feel

free to contact me offlist....I wouldn't want to clog the list....just in

case Chris (list Mom) doesn't want the posts here....

I have had great success with Bath Jelly. It is a kind of bubble bath that

jiggles like jelly. If you are interested in the recipe let me know. Kathy in
