Hi all,

Does anyone here have a good recipe for a toothpaste or powder? One

that is also safe for the kids to use. I would like to try and make

some for the family.

Thanks,

Trang

Here is one that I use. I am not sure if it is okay for the whole family so you

will have to check on that.

1/4 cup baking soda

1 tsp salt

1/2 oz tea tree oil

few drops mint or clove oil

mix well, be sure to brush your gums as well as your teeth.

HI,

This recipe is from the book " Rosemary Gladstar's

Herbs for natural beauty. I have been using this

basic recipe for a number of years now. Like it

very much. I sometimes change the eo's I add, but

the basic recipe is the same.

Basic tooth powder recipe

1/2 cup very fine white clay

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon non-aluminum baking soda (I use Arm & Hammer)

1 teaspoon myrrh powder

a few drops anise seed oil(eo) pepperment or spearment eo

Using a wire whisk, mix clay with sea salt, baking soda, and

myrrh powder, add eo's.

To the above I also add a few drops of tea tree eo and a little more

myrrh powder, as I am a sweet tooth older baker.

If you want something sweeter, you can add vegetable glycerin

to above recipe to form a paste.

Thanks Bree, Shelly, and Karleen

I'll try the recipes out. Will exclude the EO's for the kids.

Hehehee. That is exactly what I said when my friend gave me the recipe :o) I

forgot to mention that I onlly use half that amount when I make mine. He uses

the full amount. Just depends on your preference. Also, make sure to rinse

your mouth out very well after using and do not swallow any of the powder/paste.

I rinse with peroxide.

Hope that clears some things up :o)
