Guest guest
Have to gloat alittle here when you live out in the Tn boonies all you have to do is walk right in to one of the only schools in the US that goes from kindergarden to 12th grade, I don`t have to really show my id for everyone knows me, and the only reason it took me as long as it did was because I kept running into everyone I knew, and of course you have to catch up on all the news. Sandra who lives in the hills of Tn - Butch Owen Hi Anita, > Hello all > No I am not American I am British but if I were American I would be > out there (in the cold with my hot toddy) voting today! Appreciate the thoughts .. and come to think on it .. the idea of standing in line with a warm toddy for the body. ;-)

Guest guest
Hi Juliet, > I live in Alaska, it is snowy and DARN cold up here today....but > that wont stop us from voting. Glad I am to hear that. :-P > I just wanted to add how pleased I am that our public schools (I > have girls in elementary and middle school) up here have really > been teaching the kids how important it is to vote. That too is great to hear. :-P > They have been discussing it for weeks, doing polls and the kids > cast their votes. Guess I just like the fact that they are teaching > these kids some of our responsibilities to society. Course we try to > teach these things at home, but too many kids don't have parents that > are involved. So as a mother of 4 girls I'am tremendously thankful > to these ladies who suffered so much for the rights that we have > today. Agree .. and agree with all you wrote above. Since 1956, students who read Weekly Reader .. those who have little rug rats know what that is ;-) have correctly picked the president 11 out of 12 times, making the Weekly Reader poll one of the most accurate predictors of presidential outcomes in history. I expect its because they are merely reflecting the ideas of their parents .. but some of the children would obviously have to depend on their peers to tell them what is happening as their parents either don't know or don't care. But I am afraid that they might be wrong this time .. we will see.
