Guest guest
Hi Anita, > Hello all > No I am not American I am British but if I were American I would be > out there (in the cold with my hot toddy) voting today! Appreciate the thoughts .. and come to think on it .. the idea of standing in line with a warm toddy for the body. ;-) In America they close the bars on election day (used to anyway .. I reckon they still do) which makes it easier for folks to get the winos and street folks to the polls .. just give'em a bottle of Thunderbird or Mad Jack and off they go. ;-) Interesting post came to me last night from someone. Subject was about whether or not folks with advanced Alzheimers and such should be allowed to vote .. and truth is .. its not really been dealt with correctly but there are some nursing homes that decide who does or doesn't get to fill out an absentee ballot .. sorta defeats the democratic principles. Some of those folks are smarter and clearer of mind than some folks walking down the street in major cities. I heard a man on the street reporter talking to some of those cats .. on radio while I was in the USA. They were talking to the crowd in Times Square. One dude did not know who was running against Bush but he was gonna vote for him anyway because Bush helped plan 9/11 with Osama Yo Mama. ;-) This dude was not an extreme example .. he was the average person they talked to that day. The reporter told him the man running against Bush was named Kerney and the dude said .. " Yea man .. I remember it now. " One feller was an investment counselor .. he knew who was running and said he was going to vote for Kerry (as most in New York City will do) but he could not give the reporter any reasons why. Even so .. they can vote so I reckon the unfortunate folks suffering from Alzheimers should be able to vote too and that is an issue that needs to be dealt with at some point. > So please VOTE!!! > Kind Regards & Happy Voting! > Anita Good it is .. thanks .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch > Today is Election Day in the USA and I can't and won't tell anyone > here who to vote for - but get yer behinds out there and vote!
