I'm growing a number of chaste berry/Vitex trees in my yard and have been growing them for over 4 years now. Interesting, lovely, little trees with berries that do look a bit like little peppercorns on them. This year I didn't get to pick the lovely little berries quick enough and I have a number of baby trees growing. So, I agree with C-M that that they do have little berries of some type. I bought my trees through an organic nursery several years ago and had them even get me the correct information from their growers so I know these little jewels are chaste berry trees. Their leaves are the little finger type leaves that you mentioned in an earlier post. Now, I make a chaste berry infused oil that I have been using for over 3 years with rose infused oil with great results working with women's problems. Since I am in my mid-fifties I can attest to certain hormonal changes that I share with other ladies. I use the chaste berry infused oil as a secondary oil and not as a primary oil because I think that it works better. I like to use my rose infused oil as my primary oil. I have had great success with combining these two infused oils together in a formula with other oils (both eos and infused oils). I started making chaste berry infused oil when I couldn't find a supplier (according to Barbara you had to get your eo through her and she only had one supplier available) for the eo when Barbara Lucks was doing her menopausal study back years ago. Yes, I did contribute information on my findings to Barbara and she did reference my work. It is amazing how we improvise when we can't find a supplier. I would have loved to have found you as a supplier when Barbara was doing her study but I didn't and I ended up making infused chaste berry and being exceedingly happy with it. I find that the chaste berry infused oil is milder and works more subtly on the female system (different clients have tried both the infused chaste berry oil as well as the Vitex leaf eo so that I could make a comparison for myself). I also found that the eo as you have stated earlier in reference because of its many possible side-effects probably should be used as a secondary oil and not as the primary oil. I have also found from reading that Vitex is also an oil that can be used in spleen and fibro formulas. As for myself, I will continue to make and use my own Chaste Berry/Vitex infused oil and for my clients, when they request it, the essential oil. I do give them a choice of which they wish to use and after today I will be able to give them much more information, thanks to your many posts on Vitex, for them to make even better decisions and finally, I find myself better informed and very grateful to you for sharing all of your knowledge.
