Guest guest
Hi Rhavda, > Dear Butch, > Hi there, again! Fer'shur. :-P > I'm growing a number of chaste berry/Vitex trees in my yard and have > been growing them for over 4 years now. Interesting, lovely, little trees > with berries that do look a bit like little peppercorns on them. That's a good description of them methinks. > This year I didn't get to pick the lovely little berries quick enough and > I have a number of baby trees growing. Good show .. glad to hear it. That's how they spread in the wild too. > So, I agree with C-M that that they do have little berries of some type. True it is. Lots of folks call them berries .. enough so that on of the common names for the plant is Chaste Berry .. and I might be a stickler on that cause one of the professors here has corrected me a number of times when I say berry. ;-) > I bought my trees through an organic nursery several years ago and had them > even get me the correct information from their growers so I knew these little > jewels are chaste berry trees. Their leaves are the little finger type leaves > that you mentioned in an earlier post. Same thing probably. You might wanna consider using it as a herbal tea. > Now, I make a chaste berry infused oil that I have been using for over 3 > years with rose infused oil with great results working with women's problems. Good show. > Since I am in my mid-fifties I can attest to certain hormonal changes that > I share with other ladies. I use the chaste berry infused oil as a secondary > oil and not as a primary oil because I think that it works better. I like > to use my rose infused oil as my primary oil. I have had great success with > combining these two infused oils together in a formula with other oils (both > eos and infused oils). I started making chaste berry infused oil when I couldn't > find a supplier (according to Barbara you had to get your eo through her and she > only had one supplier available) Yep .. she wanted to ensure that everybody got the same oil .. her first tests were done with Greek Vitex .. supplied by Janine Sorenson. Later, I gave her a supply of Turkish Vitex. > for the eo when Barbara Lucks was doing her menopausal study back years ago. > Yes, I did contribute information on my findings to Barbara and she did reference > my work. Good show. And glad I am that Barbara took that project on. If she had not, there would be NOTHING known about the EO except various personal testimonials. > It is amazing how we improvise when we can't find a supplier. I would have > loved to have found you as a supplier when Barbara was doing her study but > I didn't and I ended up making infused chaste berry and being exceedingly > happy with it. Good it is .. if it works .. it works. ;-) > I find that the chaste berry infused oil is milder and works more subtly on > the female system (different clients have tried both the infused chaste berry > oil as well as the Vitex leaf eo so that I could make a comparison for myself), No doubt the infused oil will be milder .. we get around 900 grams or so of EO from a metric ton of aromatic material .. so its pretty danged concentrated. > I also found that the eo as you have stated earlier in reference because of its > many possible side-effects probably should be used as a secondary oil and not as > the primary oil. Self treatment is a sorta a matter of personal choice. Some ladies have become desperate and would use anything RIGHT NOW to get relief. And some have found relief RIGHT NOW from merely sniffing the oil. A person once claimed it might be the power of suggestion .. if it is .. and it works .. then the proof is in the pudding. ;-) > I have also found from reading that Vitex is also an oil that can be used in > spleen and fibro formulas. This comes from the book: VITEX, The Women's Herb, > by Christopher Hobbs, Interweave Press, Colorado. 7th Printing - December, 1997. I'm not surprised .. when I was doing a review of Vitex I saw a lot of traditional uses .. but didn't want to get into that as its too much like prescribing. ;-) > As for myself, I will continue to make and use my own Chaste Berry/Vitex > infused oil and for my clients, when they request it, the essential oil. Fair it is .. in it works .. it works. I make sure folks know that I make no claims .. I tell them what I think I know and give them the testimonials if they want them .. and advise that it will not work for everybody. > I do give them a choice of which they wish to use and after today I will > be able to give them much more information, thanks to your many posts on > Vitex, for them to make even better decisions and finally, I find myself > better informed and very grateful to you for sharing all of your knowledge. Thankee ma'am .. very kind of you to say that. :-P > Thank you, again, for making all of us better informed about Vitex/Chaste > Berry oil. > Rhavda Emison > Scents of Success (http://www.scentsofsuccess.com) > Texas Grown - American Made Rose Oil Products > Rose, Helichrysum, Oak Moss, Melissa & Other Aged Infused Oil Products My pleasure it was .. and y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
