Guest guest
Hopefully someone can help me with this question too. Does the Flashpoint of a EO dictate how much scent will be lost during the insulation/curing process of soapmaking? For example, I had the opportunity to buy a Eucalyptus EO with a flash point of 109 and other that was described as having a citronella like fragrance that had a flashpoint of 165. I know my soap heats up in the insulation phase (you know right after it traces and you pour it into the molds) most likely beyond 109. SO does this mean that if my soap is hotter than 109 that I will lose the Eucalyptus fragrance if I use the EO with a flashpoint of 109? I just need to know how this works. (I'd rather not have to use the one that smells like citronella. Thanks, Marianne
