Guest guest
Hi Marianne, It really depends on the scent you are going for .. The Virginia Red Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) has a more pungent scent to it .. its the smell of the stuff they use in bedding for gerbils and guinea pigs, as well as the stuff they line closets and chests with to keep away moths. The Atlas Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) has a more subtle and more attractive scent IMHO. I have made woodsy scent soaps with both of those cedars in my blend, and just made sure to keep the Virginia variety to a smaller portion of the mix, because it is more overpowering. I hope that helps some! *Smile* Chris (list mom) Through Halloween We're Celebrating The Colors of Autumn With A Sale On Virgin Red Palm Oil & Brown Muscovado Sugar <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> http://www.alittleolfactory.com Marianne [mccreadj] Can anyone tell me which Cedarwood EO is better for soapmaking or are they both the same: Cedarwood Altas or Cedarwood Virginiana Thanks, Marianne
