Called “Nature’s Facelift”, Squalane is a botanical lipid that is duplicate in

molecular structure and weight to human lipids (scientists found that the skin's

sebaceous glands synthesized approximately 10-12% squalane). The squalane

produced today is plant-derived as opposed to the animal-derived (shark liver

oil) of years ago. Produced from olives, this valuable lipid is extremely

(Virgin Cold Pressed) Meadowfoam Seed Oil: 98% Fatty Acids, Including Three

Previously Unknown Long Chain Fatty Acids

 

Origin: Meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba Benth.) is a low growing herbaceous winter

annual that is adapted to poorly drained soils. The common name " Meadowfoam " is

due to the appearance, at full bloom, of the plant’s solid canopy of creamy

white flowers that resembles, in the wind, sea foam on the surf. Meadowfoam is

native to northern California, southern Oregon, and Vancouver Island, British

Columbia. Research and development of meadowfoam began in the late 1950s as the

result of a USDA search for plants that might provide a renewable source of raw

materials for industry. Commercial development began in 1980 on an experimental

farm in Oregon.

 

Profile: Meadowfoam seeds (nutlets) contain 20 to 30 percent oil. The oil from

meadowfoam seed has unique chemical properties that make it one of the most

stable vegetable oils known. The oil extracted from meadowfoam seeds is

recognized for its outstanding oxidative stability and contains over 98 percent

long-chain fatty acids. It has higher quality triglyceride levels compared to

other vegetable oils. Meadowfoam oil contains three previously unknown long

chain fatty acids. The oil is most similar to high euric acid rapeseed oil.

Rapeseed oil is slightly more saturated than meadowfoam oil.

 

Applications: Meadowfoam oil is widely used in cosmetic and hair care

applications because of its stability, lubricity and ability to adhere to, and

stay on the skin. It is highly resistant to oxidation and heat and is a valuable

material for personal care products.

 

The beneficial properties of Meadowfoam oil are:

 

· Moisturises and rejuvenates the skin and adds shine to the hair

 

· Provides protective barriers for skin and hair

Meadowfoam Oil is one of the most stable lipids known and remains liquid at room

temperature despite its high molecular weight. This immense stability can be

conferred to other oils making it ideal for use with less stable oils such as

Almond, Borage, or Evening Primrose. It can be used in cosmetics to successfully

extend the product shelf life.

Black Seed Oil

 

 

 

Also known as Black Cumin Seed Oil, Egyptian Black Cumin, Black Caraway Seed,

Habbatul Baraka (The Blessed Seed), or Nigella Sativa, it is cold-pressed from

the Black Seed herb, which contains about 28-35% oil. Research shows that Black

Seed Oil contains more than 100 components, some of which are still

unidentified, that work together synergistically. It is a rich source of

polyunsaturated fatty acids (also known as " essential fatty acids " ) which are

the building blocks of cells and help the body produce Prostaglandin E1.

 

 

 

Typical Analysis of Black Seed Oil: Fatty Acid Content

 

Myristic Acid(0.5%), Palmitic Acid (13.7%), Palmitoleic Acid (0.1%), Stearic

Acid (2.6%), Oleic Acid (23.7%), Linoleic Acid [Omega-6] (57.9%), Linolenic Acid

[Omega-3] (0.2%), Arachidic Acid (1.3%) - and the following nutrient components

Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine, Niacin, Folacin, Calcium, Iron,

Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus.

 

 

 

High line cosmetic companies are incorporating this oil into their formulas for

age control serums and extra firming lotions, because of its ability to protect

from peroxidation (see Houghton, P. J., R. Zarka, et al. (1995). Fixed oil of
