Guest guest
Hi Nessy, > Hi Butch, > Thank you for sending this GREAT story! I live in Florida and man, I know > what you are talking about with all that great food! Welcome fer'shur .. and right you are. I am legally a Floridian .. though I have never lived there. Own a lot in Port Malabar, on the Indian River .. vote there and such. > How do you do it, and run your business online???? Energetic feller I am .. never worked less than an 80 hour week in my adult life .. having three employees in Maryland helps a lot too. ;-) While I travel I just forward orders to them and they fill them. They are at the store where all the goodies are. They handle the packing and shipping of orders, bookkeeping and such. I do the buying and ensure testing and reply to technical questions from folks. But while I am on the road its difficult to reply to the long posts but I try .. and catch up later I do. Not sure how often and for how long I will be in Afghanistan but it will not be a long term thing .. trips to and fro is the plan. But one thing is sure .. while I am there a lap top will normally be useless so odds are we'll set the Shopping Cart to send orders directly to my folks in Friendsville .. now they all come to me. Speaking of Friendsville, pop. 597 and such, just this day I loaded 40 photos onto Oils & Herbs .. y'all can see the store and some of the many items besides Essential Oils that I don't show on my web site. First one on the Photos Page .. called Anatolian Treasures - Friendsville. Reason I don't show those items on my regular site is because they are few in number and primarily there to get folks to walk into the store. Friendsville is a small town .. except for the weekends when White Water Rafters crowd the town .. and but a few miles from Deep Creek Reservoir and Recreation Area .. so we get a fair number of walk in customers. Just click on Photos .. on this Newsgroup. > I am still trying to figure out that one for myself. Any insight that might > make me laugh could give me a clue....LOL! Well .. it works like this. Long ago, when I was but a buck private in Uncle Sugar's Army, I started saving $3-$4 a month. As I progressed through the ranks I raised it a couple of bucks .. plan was to have enough cash to some day buy a retirement home. But in 1995, I traded the doors and windows and half the house to open my Turkish company, which I closed on 1 January this year. In 1999, I traded the rest of that unbuilt house to stock and staff my company in Friendsville. So today, I have no house but have a store in Friendsville. :-p If you wanna read the history of some of the goodies shown .. like Meerschaum, Copper Manipulation, Puzzle Rings, and Turkish Coffee .. which I now longer offer .. I have written a bit on them on my old Turkish web site at http://www.Bsi-Hq.com Just go there and click on Products. > You have such great writing! Thankee ma'am .. appreciate the kind words. Not doing a lot of writing lately due to being overwhelmed by alligators. > Read the info on cat pee etc. gonna do that one for myself...my cat peed > in a basket of clean clothes. yippee. Getting cat pee out of a basket of clothes is not so difficult .. but when they use an Oriental Carpet .. or especially one of the very heavy Angora Flokati Rugs, its a bear. Most folks probably don't know what we are talking about .. ;-) http://www.av-at.com/carpet.html That article is older'n water .. I oughta spruce it up a bit. > Take care, and send us a link of a pic of yourself with that lovely Afgan hat! Thankee .. that I will do when I get there. Not sure when that is gonna happen. My proposal includes a coordination trip before December as I wanna do face-to-face with these folks .. their plans (like most plans) are optimistic .. wanna bring'em back down to Earth. The good part of this project is it'll become a part of the history of this industry .. IF .. it is successful. Rose roots/cuttings, hydro-distillation still and technical knowledge I will provide from Turkey .. and some day .. there will be a tale there .. methinks. :-P > Hugs~Nessy Saylor You betcha .. and y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > I'm back .. come back on the list today cause Chris said if I didn't she > was gonna start a rumor that I was too busy working for John Kerry's > election. But I mailed my Absentee Ballot last Thursday and them whut > know me understand whose name was on it. ;-)
