Guest guest
Hi Jane, I don't know what exactly she means by needing to be " licensed " to make toiletries. Yes, there are guidelines put out by the FDA for cosmetic manufacturers, and also if you were to perform any " hands on " treatments - such as facials or massages you need a license to " touch " clients, but I don't know if that is what she means ... The below link has some good links to info that might help you clarify this subject a bit better - including links to the FDA regulations in the area of cosmetics labeling and requirements .. http://sbdcnet.utsa.edu/industry/beauty.htm *Smile* Chris (list mom) Celebrating The Colors of Autumn - ON SALE NOW Virgin Red Palm Oil & 2 Kinds Of Brown Muscovado Sugar <http://www.alittleolfactory.com> http://www.alittleolfactory.com janeec2003 [jane_cummins] hi all......got an email from a therapist telling me my hand blended products (eg bath of happiness)had to be licsensed before i could sell them.......is this true and how do you do it??? Guest guest
I was reading that post and wondering if they meant to ensure your product name is licenced or copyrighted... you couldn't go around and sell " Disney cream " without the proper licencing :-) Same with business names, you should ensure that your name is registered and secured before investing alot for advertising and such... if its a name that you love and you can register all the .com .net etc addresses, do so! There are alot of nefarious hacker sites where they download info and make it appear to be your site (even through google), and then hijack any visitors to their site....grrrrr ~ I saw that done to a local rv business who only had the .ca name registered (I was looking for their parts catalogue page online and got into the hijacked page :-( ) Shelley - > I don't know what exactly she means by needing to be " licensed " to make > toiletries. _________ $0 Web Hosting with up to 120MB web space, 1000 MB Transfer 10 Personalized POP and Web E-mail Accounts, and much more.
