help with pulled muscle

Yesterday I was out in the chicken yard trying to 'clean up' with

a shovel - and all of the sudden as I was slightly bent over, and

not picking ANYTHING up that was very heavy - it felt like

someone hit me in the back with an electric cattle prod - my left

side felt like lightning hit it - and I was bent over for

good...I could barely breathe..I finally made it back in the

house - and the best I can determine, the muscle that runs across

my ribs in the back was pulled ... best I can guess anyway - when

I breathe, or turn a certain way I can't catch my breath and a

large gasp of air escapes with a moan (and I can't control that

one! LOL) ...

I've been putting peppermint on the muscles and heating pad and

then ice pack ...I'm now getting really tight muscles since I'm

trying so hard 'not to move' ... and that's a good trick ....

trying to sit here hold my arms as close as I can to my body, not

breathe, and type at the same time...picking up my cup of coffee

is TORTURE! LOL ... and I've got a full days work ahead of me -

web customers are waiting for their changes!! So I'll puter on

:-)

any help or ideas????

Blessings,

Pam

Hi Pam

This doesn't sound like muscle to me, it sounds very familiar :(( I think you

have probably put something out, likely to be just a little knobble (facet) on

one of your vertebra. It might go back on its own if you just lie down and

rest. Muscle relaxant oils will help but If you aggravate it more it could take

lots longer to get better and cost you money to have it tweaked! I would give

up on the work for today and just rest - the world won't come to an end!

hope it's better soon

Pam,

Sounds like you are doing pretty good with what you are currently doing.....

Perhaps try some Valarian or Kava Kava capsules. Both will help you relax

somewhat, so may help the muscle relax as well.

If not better in just a day or two, I would consider going to the

doctor....just in case it's NOT a muscle that you've pulled.

HTH a bit!

Hi Pam,

IF it is a pulled muscle, I have found that homeopathic arnica is very

helpful for that - both the internal tabs and the external gel or

ointment. BUT from what you are describing, well, it might not be just a

pulled muscle. Might want to get to your local chiropractor and find out

for sure and get adjusted.

I hope you feel better soon!

Hi, Pam.

It sounds like it could also be a rib out of place. (Been there, done

that.) Ribs go out of alignment, just as vertebrae do, and depending on

which rib it is, can cause symtoms as you described. You might want to see

a chiropractor or osteopath to help put it back in place, if that is indeed

the problem.

Hope this helps.

Love and light, Angela.

Sounds like you may have popped a rib out.... if you can go to a

chiropractor he/she could check it out and pop it back in if necessary. I

did that once.... it is painful! The type of pain is as you describe (hard

to breathe etc).

Hope you can get it fixed today!
