Darling,

I can't say that the one and only cardamom eo I have smells like sweet

eucalyptus. Nope - mine smells exactely like the spice I use when I

make cinamon rolls (buns are they called here), warm and sweet - a

very destinct scent. Where did you get it? I got mine from a German

company, but I think I will get some from different suppliers, just to

compare. I find it so amazing that the same Eo can smell so very

different depending on where it was grown, destilled a.s.o. -

collecting fragrant materials is surely totaly addictive :-D

Hi Margaret,

Sorry, I missed the original message ... I've also not personally had

euclayptusy smelling cardamom EO. Its was always as Ylva describes it,

warm and very much like the scent of the spice pods themselves. But,

Ylva is absolutely correct when she states that depending on where it

was grown, and how, etc .. oils of the same species of plants can be

totally different.

Case in point - I have 3 kinds of steam distilled lavender angustifolia

oil. The countries of origin varied, as did the growing conditions,

including altitude. They all smell distinctly unique from each other,

especially when compared side by side. They are all very good lavenders,

and are lovely smelling lavender ... just different from each other!
